Ahoy,

I've owned my 1.6 GS for about 5 years now, it's been a solid little car.

I'm planning after my wedding next year to start tinkering with it.

Has anyone done a four wheel drive conversion on a Baleno before?
I'm thinking about dropping in a 2.5-3 litre V6 and shifting the seats and dash back (i'm 6 foot 3 and no one can sit in the back seats anyway ;P)

Anyways hello to all you fellow Baleno lovers, I'm sure I'll catch you on the forums

Smiley

The v6 has been attempted, but wasn't finished, required custom shafts and the engine sat about 6 inches higher than the original engine.

Welcome alOng!

I'm from Wiltshire.

6 inches higher than the bonnet could be interesting, of course I've always loved the classic muscle look of the superchargers blower and a hole cut in the bonnet Wink

the V6 is my long term goal, in the mean time I'll probably drop in a 2.0 or source the 1.8GSR engine as the 1.6 has shed quite a bit of the nippiness it used to have Sad

The Baleno was available as AWD in some parts of the world.

yeah, iv seen a couple of GSR engines on ebay. was told that the 2.0 litre is better because they have a much more solid bottom end so that would probably be a safer option, one that im thinking of trying. also my owners manual has some stuff for a 1.6 AWD baleno towards the back, anyone else seen this?
