Hi all.
Just a quick story on how i came a gsr owner!! After my trusty old focus broke down in the cold weather i was desparate for some new wheels as i work 20 miles away from home . All that was on offer was a baleno 1.8 gsr black. Never heard of them before but when i went to view i brought it on the spot 1 owner service history from new and as in new condition. I cant belive having been a ford man all my life a lil car like this can come along and change all that !! Had my focus fixed but keeping gsr!! Just wanted some info really i belive the car is not to common in the uk and really just wonder how many were shipped in to the uk.

First things first, welcome to Clubaleno mate  Grin. checking the subframe is good advice. i have pics of mine on the common problems page. images speak for themselves. i have owned my GSR for 6 1/2 months now and never had any other problems and im very pleased.

also there aren't many of these around, unlucky for me theres 3 in my area lol. no-one knowin what it is is the best bit about having one, surprises quite a few people.

only thing im aware of is that they are a 1.8 twin cam 16v engine with between 119 - 125 bhp as standard other than other owners reviews there isnt much info on these

Welcome  Grin
Yes very rare and under-rated cars, and its always nice to have something different.
Was a previous Ford man myself.

Once you buy Jap your'll never go back! lol

just read this on an ebay article, not sure if its true but here it is....

"The Suzuki Baleno GSR was introduced in 2000 to compete in the sporting hatchback market. Suzuki fitted a Mazda-supplied 1.8 Twin Cam 16-Valve engine with 120hp and 112lb-ft of torque as also used in the Mazda 323 GT."

As this model was sold in the UK for less than 2 years, they are hard-to-find
