Hate to say what you clearly already know! Gearbox is past it's best. Tried scrap yards?

Yes very hard to get hold of anything.Plenty of 1.8 gsr boxes but nothing 1.6.If if I find one it's stupid money. I fancy trying to put a vauxhall gearbox on it have been looking at work required to do this

I'm pretty sure the swift 1.3 box would fit and is a shorter ratio so would be quicker on acceleration, don't hold me to that though

I've heard elswhere that the internals of the swift box will fit but that's proving a nightmare to find aswell.
